The Hill is Alive with the Sound of Music! The office can’t stop listening to the soundtrack which has inspired us to come up with some fun, easy & inexpensive DIY costumes for you to consider for this Saturday’s costume contest at the Sound of Music Sing-A-Long.
Raindrops on Roses:
This pretty headband took us all of 15 minutes to make, the toughest part was picking out what color roses to use! We just hot glued three roses on a wide headband – added some small cut out raindrops and we were set. *Red lipstick optional
Whiskers on Kittens:
We found some designer pearl kitten ears we just knew we could recreate! Using floral wire, we beaded pearl beads found at a craft store & then bent the wire in the center creating a triangle. We wrapped the ends of the wire around a thin headband and MEOW! We used simple eyeliner to draw on the whiskers and nose. This purrrty DIY cost us just under $4 to make.
Girls in White Dresses with Blue Satin Sashes:
Is there really anything sweeter? For this DIY look, we raided our closest for a white dress & simply tied a pretty blue satin bow around the waist. If this doesn’t yodel Sound of Music, we’re not sure what does!
& Brown Paper Packages Tied up with Strings:
If the simple DIY costumes didn’t entice you enough, maybe this will. Some of the hottest restaurants, shops & hotels in the area have donated some amazing prizes for our costume contest winners! Be sure to arrive early to be considered, gates open at 6:30 p.m.
