What is Children’s Festival?
Children’s Festival is an annual event that transforms The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion into the largest playground in Texas. Families are invited to come out and play where learning is fun and interactive.
 
 
Does Children’s Festival have a theme?
The focus of Children’s Festival is to make performing and visual arts available and entertaining for children. Children’s Festival is an exciting way to help young children broaden their horizons, tap into their talents, ignite their creativity, and develop a love and appreciation for performing arts.
 
 
What age group is appropriate for Children’s Festival?
Children’s Festival performances are designed for children ranging from PK to 5th grade, but kids of all ages will enjoy the activities all around The Pavilion. Bring the whole family!
 
 
What kinds of activities are available at Children’s Festival?
Children’s Festival is overflowing with various activities. While most activities are geared toward education and the arts, we make sure to pack in a whole lot of fun. Build alongside a certified LEGO® Builder, explore the universe with Janet’s Planet, wander through the petting zoo and much more. Learn about this year’s activities here.
 
 
When do the gates open?
On Saturday Nov. 14, gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. On Sunday Nov. 15, gates open at 12 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. Booth activities end at 4:30 p.m. each day.
 
 
Who are the performers?
Performing on the Main Stage at this year’s Festival are Riff Rockit and Bob the Builder. Other characters featured in the Festival include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbie, and characters from Star Wars in the 501st Legion.
 
 
How can I make sure my kids meet their favorite characters?
Several characters will be strolling around the grounds for you to snap a picture with during the Festival, but performer Meet & Greets are scheduled in the South Plaza throughout the day. Line up for a one-on-one photo opportunity with Riff Rockit, Bob the Builder, Barbie, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The schedule is printed in your event program.
 
 
How much do the activities cost?
The price of your ticket is all-inclusive. The daily admission includes every show and activity, so parents don’t spend the day dealing with tickets, tokens or endless lines. The only reason to bring extra money is for buying concessions.
 
 
Can food be brought into the Festival?
Families are invited to bring picnic lunches to Children’s Festival. However, beverages cannot be brought into the venue. Concessions by ARAMARK Sports & Entertainment are available in the North and South Plazas.
 
 
Are strollers allowed inside the Festival?
The Pavilion allows strollers inside the gates exclusively for this family event. Guests can park strollers in one of the several designated Stroller Parking Areas throughout the venue when watching a performance. Strollers are not allowed in the seating areas.
 
 
What if it rains?
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a “rain or shine” venue. In the event of inclement weather, activities will proceed as normal throughout the grounds. Many of the activities are covered, including the seating for Main Stage performances.
 
 
Where can Festival tickets be purchased?
Tickets for Children’s Festival can be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office (at The Pavilion’s north entrance at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands) Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and at the door the days of the Festival. Admission is $8 per person in advance and $10 per person at the door. Children under two are admitted FREE of charge. Tickets for Children’s Festival also are available through Ticketmaster at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
 
 
What parking options are available for Children’s Festival?
Free parking is available at one of The Pavilion’s satellite lots off Timberloch Place. All lots are located within convenient walking distance of The Pavilion. Directional signage to these lots will be available on the day of the event.
On-site pre-paid parking is also available in the Town Center Garage, located off Six Pines Drive. Parking is $5 per vehicle for this event. Tickets for on-site parking can be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office or at the entrance to the garage during the Festival. Advance purchase is not required, but guarantees a space the day of the Festival.

Are there other events like Children’s Festival at The Pavilion?

The Pavilion hosts many performing arts events as well as Live Nation contemporary concerts. The final performing arts event of this season is Holly Jolly Jingle on Dec. 3, a holiday themed orchestral performance preceded by similar festive events in the plazas.
