One of the greatest things about The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is its repertoire of legendary artists across all genres of music (and, this year, even comedy) who have played on the stage. This week’s concerts solidify this fact with three acts that are very familiar to concertgoers at The Pavilion.
Southern boys Lynyrd Skynyrd and British rockers Bad Company take the stage this Thurs., July 11. These bands are no strangers to The Pavilion, with Bad Company having performed here four times and Lynyrd Skynyrd 15 times in the 23 seasons since The Pavilion’s opening in 1990.
Acoustic rocker John Mayer takes the stage with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips on Fri., July 12. Mayer has also played at The Pavilion many times, with six performances in the past ten years. Mayer’s newest album Paradise Valley is set to be released Aug. 13. (Friday’s concert is sold out.)
